Tesla Airbag Replacement in Dubai

A deployed airbag needs replacing. A restraint-system warning needs the right fault identified first. Our Tesla airbag service brings the replacement parts, fitting and related safety-system work into one clear repair estimate.

Two different starting points

Tell us what happened

The work depends on whether the airbag has deployed or the car is reporting a fault. You do not need to identify the faulty part before contacting us.

A warning is showing

Find the cause of the alert

An airbag or safety-restraint warning can involve a sensor, wiring connection, seat-related component or control fault. It does not establish that the airbag cushion itself needs replacement.

We assess the recorded fault and the relevant components before recommending work. Tell us if the message appeared after a seat, steering wheel or interior repair, or if it comes and goes. That history helps focus the inspection without treating a possibility as a diagnosis.

Useful to send

A clear photo of the warning and a brief note about when it appeared.

An airbag has deployed

Plan the complete restraint repair

A deployed airbag is a replacement item. The repair also needs to account for the other components affected by the collision, including replacements required even when damage is not obvious.

Have the car transported for assessment. The restraint work should be coordinated with the collision repair assessment, particularly where the dashboard, seats, steering components or mounting points are damaged.

Know what you are pricing

Tesla airbag replacement cost

Our guide estimate for airbag replacement work is AED 3,000–4,000. Driver, passenger and side-airbag jobs can differ because the assemblies, access and surrounding repairs are different.

This range is a planning guide, not a fixed charge per airbag or a complete accident-repair package. Multiplying it by the number of deployed airbags will not give a reliable total: some work is shared, while other required components add to the bill.

Your written estimate confirms parts, labour, VAT and the total before work begins. It separates assessment fees from the parts and fitting needed to complete the repair.

The location changes the job

Compare the airbag fitting work

“Replace an airbag” can describe several different jobs. The position of the airbag affects access, interior reinstatement and which adjacent components must be considered.

Steering wheel

Driver airbag replacement

Where it sits
Within the steering wheel assembly.
What changes the work
A driver airbag deployment can also trigger replacement requirements for the steering wheel and steering column under the applicable Tesla procedure.
What to compare
Check whether the estimate covers only the airbag or also the steering parts, hardware and required setup. An undamaged-looking wheel does not rule out those requirements.
Dashboard

Passenger airbag replacement

Where it sits
Behind the front passenger section of the dashboard.
What changes the work
Access and damage to the dashboard, covers or surrounding trim can add work beyond the airbag assembly itself.
What to compare
Look for the dashboard or trim parts included in the quote and how the interior will be reinstated. Ask about the finish before agreeing to cosmetic repairs around the deployment area.
Seat and roof side

Side and curtain airbags

Where they sit
Seat-mounted locations and the side of the roof, depending on the vehicle.
What changes the work
A seat-airbag deployment may require a complete seat assembly. Curtain work also involves the nearby headlining and pillar trim.
What to compare
Confirm which side, seat or curtain is being replaced and whether the correct trim and seat assembly are included. These are different components with different fitting requirements.

Knee airbags and additional seat airbags depend on the car’s equipment and market. We identify the fitted system before finalising the replacement list.

Beyond the visible airbag

Related parts in the estimate

The supplementary restraint system, or SRS, includes airbags, belt pretensioners and other safety components. Tesla’s collision instructions determine what must be inspected and what must be replaced.

The list changes with the vehicle, deployment and occupied seats. Open each item to see why it may appear on your quotation.

The replacement list is matched to your Tesla’s build and deployment history.

Seat belts and pretensionersOccupant restraints

Pretensioners tighten the belts during certain collisions. A deployed pretensioner requires the applicable belt replacement, and the procedure can also require occupied-seat belts and buckles to be renewed. If your concern is an isolated belt defect, our seat belt replacement service explains that work separately.

Restraint control moduleDeployment control

The restraint control module, commonly called the RCM, is part of the deployment system. Tesla specifies replacement in relevant deployment situations. A quotation for clearing crash data is therefore not automatically an alternative to a new module. The applicable replacement and setup instructions determine the work.

Impact sensors and connectorsCollision-area inspection

Sensors near the collision area and connectors attached to damaged or deployed components need attention. Some are inspected and retained; damaged items require the prescribed action. The estimate should distinguish parts being replaced from components that only need inspection.

Wiring and harness assembliesRepair restrictions apply

Damage to restraint wiring needs a vehicle-specific response. Tesla restricts who may repair SRS wiring, so ordinary wire splicing must not be assumed. The repair plan identifies the permitted harness replacement or specialist work before the job is agreed.

Seats, steering and mountingsSupporting assemblies

Deployment loads can affect more than the airbag cover. Seats, steering assemblies, belt anchors and mounting points are considered under the relevant procedure. Any required replacement or structural repair should be identified before new restraints are fitted to the vehicle.

Collision-related battery isolationSeparate electrical work

Some deployment repairs also involve the pyrotechnic battery disconnect. Its requirements depend on the event and the vehicle’s instructions. This is separate from fitting the airbag and must be handled by appropriately qualified personnel; it is not a reason to attempt a restart or bypass at home.

A closer look at the vehicle

Imported or previously repaired Tesla?

For an imported car, the original market specification is part of the compatibility check. Model name and registration year alone may not identify the correct restraint assembly. Production details and the VIN help distinguish parts that look similar but belong to different vehicle configurations.

Previous repair history matters for a different reason. A car may have had dashboard or seat work without a clear record of which restraints were renewed. Bring the earlier invoice or estimate if you have it; photos taken before the repair can also help explain what was damaged.

Missing records do not prove that the repair was wrong. They mean the present car must be assessed on its own condition, installed parts and diagnostic findings. Replacing one visible component should not conceal a separate unresolved fault.

Make quotations comparable

Read the estimate line by line

A useful quotation explains what the total buys. The same “airbag replacement” description can hide substantial differences in parts, access and related work.

01Airbag assembly
Name the position, quantity and correct new genuine replacement part. A driver airbag price should not be confused with the cost of a complete steering wheel or every restraint in the car.
02Fitting and interior access
Identify removal and refitting, required hardware and affected trim. Ask whether dashboard, seat or headlining work is included or priced separately.
03Related replacements
Show the belts, module, sensors or supporting assemblies actually required. A parts list should explain why an item is being renewed rather than bundle unrelated work into an unexplained charge.
04Setup and final checks
Identify the applicable configuration, diagnostic and inspection work. Do not assume a line described only as “reset” includes all of these operations.
05Changes and the final total
Keep any additional work visible, with revised parts and labour when inspection reveals more damage. Confirm VAT and the total against the agreed quotation before authorising the repair.

Already comparing an estimate? Send the itemised work, not just the final number. We can discuss whether you are comparing the same replacement and the same included work.

Choose the part carefully

Genuine parts with clear identification

Our replacement service uses genuine Tesla parts. Tesla’s SRS precautions specify new genuine components and prohibit fitting used restraints from another vehicle. An undeployed airbag from a donor car is therefore not the same purchase as a new replacement part.

Clear identification also matters. The correct label and part information must be present; a seller’s description such as “fits Model 3/Y” is not enough to establish suitability for a particular vehicle.

Before ordering a loose airbag

Ask us to review the part details before you buy. The assembly may differ from the one your car requires, and a low parts-only price leaves fitting and the wider repair unresolved.

Keep discussions about supply and handling with the workshop. Airbags and pretensioners require professional handling; they should not be dismantled, tested with ordinary electrical equipment or casually transported in the passenger cabin.

A damaged cover or re-trimmed dashboard is a cosmetic concern. It cannot establish whether the concealed restraint assembly is correct, new or properly installed.

Plan the time off the road

Fitting time and parts availability

The time needed to fit an airbag is only one part of the schedule. A car with a single confirmed fault can involve different work from a collision repair needing several restraints, a seat or dashboard parts.

We give the expected completion time after the replacement list and parts availability are known. A supplier’s delivery estimate is not a confirmed collection date.

Before parts are ordered

The vehicle details and required assemblies need to be settled. Ordering only the most visible airbag can delay the job when another required component is discovered later.

While work is coordinated

Interior, body and safety-system repairs may need to be completed in a particular order. Keep the vehicle available for the agreed work and final checks rather than arranging collection around fitting time alone.

If airbags have deployed, arrange transport. For a restraint warning, contact the workshop promptly and follow the vehicle’s warning instructions before deciding whether to drive it in.

Keep a useful repair record

What to retain at handover

Keep the agreed estimate and final invoice together so you can see what was replaced and which work was completed.

These details also help if another workshop needs to inspect the car later or you sell it. A record of the fitted parts and completed checks makes the repair history easier to understand.

  • Replaced componentsThe positions and quantities of airbags, belts and related assemblies listed on the invoice.
  • Parts informationAvailable part numbers and identification of the new genuine replacements.
  • Completed checksThe applicable diagnostic, setup and inspection work, with any remaining concerns explained.
  • Agreed additional workInterior or body repairs and any changes from the original estimate.
  • Collection arrangementsConfirmation that the agreed work is complete and how to raise a question after collection.
Does every airbag need replacing after a collision?

No universal “replace every airbag” rule should be applied without checking the vehicle’s instructions. Deployed airbags require replacement, while other components may need inspection or mandatory replacement depending on the event. The completed repair list must follow the applicable Tesla procedure.

Can you quote from photographs?

Photos are useful for an initial discussion and visible damage assessment. They cannot show every mounting point, connector or diagnostic fault. We use them to prepare for inspection, then confirm the parts and work needed for the final quotation.

Will replacing the airbag also repair the dashboard?

Only when the dashboard or trim work is included in the agreed estimate. Airbag replacement and interior reinstatement are related jobs, but their parts and labour should be clear. Discuss the finish and any replacement panels before the repair begins.

Does a road test prove deployment will work?

No. A road test does not test airbag deployment. Correct parts, the prescribed replacement work and the required inspections and diagnostic checks all matter. Clearing a warning or driving the car around the block cannot replace that work.
