Tesla AC Repair in Dubai
If your Tesla is blowing warm air or struggling to cool the cabin, we can help with AC servicing, refrigerant leaks and component repairs. At our Al Quoz workshop, we identify what has changed and explain the work needed to restore cooling.
AC service estimates AED 300–1,500The work included depends on the fault. Major component replacement costs more; see the price guide below.

Know what the price covers
Tesla AC repair prices
Allow AED 300–1,500 for AC servicing, depending on the work needed. The individual repair figures below are indicative Dubai market budgets, so you can distinguish a refrigerant service from a larger replacement job.
| Work per vehicle | Estimated budget |
|---|---|
| AC service | AED 300–1,500 |
| Refrigerant recharge and testing | AED 350–600 |
| Electric compressor replacement | AED 1,600–3,600+ |
| Condenser or evaporator replacement | AED 2,500–4,500 |
Each figure describes the listed work. Your replacement quote confirms whether refrigerant service is included, so the same work is not counted twice. Recharge figures exclude fixing a leak or replacing damaged parts. Replacement budgets vary with the part, access and wider system damage; complex heat-pump repairs can exceed these figures.
Your written estimate confirms parts, labour, VAT and the total before work begins. The figures above are guidance, not a fixed fitted offer or a confirmed VAT-inclusive total.
Start with what you notice
Which AC problem feels familiar?
You do not need to identify a failed part before calling. Choose the closest description to see which service may help and what information to share.
The same symptom can have several causes. These examples explain the repair options, without turning a warning or noise into a diagnosis.
01Strong airflow, but warm air
Ask about cooling-system diagnosis. If the blower moves plenty of air but it stays warm, a refrigerant leak, compressor problem or control fault needs separating from an airflow issue.
Tell us whether the cooling stopped suddenly or gradually weakened, and whether the system has recently been recharged. That history can help explain why a refill did not last.
02Very little air from the vents
Ask about airflow and blower checks. A restricted filter, blower fault or air-distribution problem can limit the air reaching you. Note whether every vent is weak or only one area is affected.
The useful repair may be in the cabin-air path, even when the compressor and refrigerant circuit are working.
03Cooling fades after a while
Arrange an intermittent cooling assessment. Tell us how long the AC runs before the change and whether it happens while driving, stationary or charging. A short cold-air test may miss a fault that develops later.
Bring a photo of any warning message and mention whether restarting the climate controls temporarily changes the problem.
04A musty smell or wet carpet
Ask about the evaporator, filters and drainage. Damp odour and water entering the cabin need a different assessment from refrigerant loss. Cleaning, a filter change or drainage work may be relevant.
A smell by itself does not establish that the evaporator is leaking or needs replacement.
05Noise or a thermal warning
Describe the noise and send the exact message. Some fan and compressor activity while parked is normal. New grinding, repeated shutdowns or a warning alongside lost cooling needs attention.
If the vehicle instructs you to stop, follow that instruction and call before driving to the workshop.
Repair the part that needs it
AC repairs and replacements
A sound repair can be a small connection repair or a larger component replacement. We explain what has failed, which parts can remain and what must accompany the repair.
Compressor replacement
The compressor circulates refrigerant. If it is the confirmed fault, the replacement must match the fitted system and follow the applicable high-voltage procedure.
The condition of the refrigerant circuit matters too. Debris from a failed compressor can change the job beyond replacing the unit. Oil handling, seals and any required related parts need to appear in the quotation.
Does the total cover the compressor, refrigerant service and the related work needed to protect the replacement?
Leak repair and recharge
A leaking connection, seal, pipe or component needs locating before the repair can be priced. We distinguish the cost of finding and repairing the leak from restoring the specified refrigerant charge.
Slow leaks may need more investigation than a visibly damaged pipe. Mention any recent AC work or impact near the front of the car.
Which component is leaking, and is the recharge included after that repair?
Condenser and heat-exchanger work
Debris restricting airflow needs a different correction from a damaged, leaking component. Cleaning may be appropriate where the part is intact; it cannot close a refrigerant leak.
Tesla systems differ in how they exchange heat between air, refrigerant and coolant. The estimate identifies the actual part rather than treating every front cooling assembly as the same condenser.
Is cleaning sufficient, or is damage the reason for replacement?
Evaporator repairs
The evaporator cools the cabin air. A confirmed leak can require replacement with significant interior access, while an odour complaint may call for cleaning and filter attention.
The quotation should include the dismantling and reassembly needed for your model. It should also separate that work from unrelated trim repairs or other cabin faults.
What confirms the evaporator fault, and which access work is included?
Two different services
Recharging versus repairing the AC
A recharge restores the specified refrigerant amount. A repair corrects the fault that prevents the system working properly. They may be part of the same job, but one does not automatically replace the other.
- What it does
- Recovers the refrigerant and returns the system to its specified charge, with the required vacuum and service checks.
- When it belongs
- As part of an appropriate service or after work that opens the refrigerant circuit. A known leak first needs a repair plan.
- What it cannot fix
- A damaged compressor, leaking evaporator, failed blower or faulty control. More refrigerant is not a general cure for warm air.
- What it does
- Corrects the leak, electrical fault, airflow problem or failed component responsible for the complaint.
- When it belongs
- When testing identifies a defect. The work may be a connection repair, a sensor or blower repair, or replacement of a larger assembly.
- How the quote stays clear
- Refrigerant and labour included in a replacement job should not be added again as a separate package. Compare the included work before comparing totals.

Three connected functions
How your Tesla moves heat
The cabin-air path, refrigerant circuit and vehicle cooling system do different jobs. Seeing the relationship helps explain why weak vents, warm air and a battery-temperature warning lead to different checks.
Heat-pump vehicles connect these functions differently from earlier systems. The actual component layout depends on the car.
The air you feelThe blower moves air through the cabin-air system and the vents. Filters and air-distribution controls affect how much air reaches the occupants.
The cooling processThe electric compressor and refrigerant circuit move heat. The evaporator removes heat from cabin air; other heat exchangers release or transfer it.
More than cabin comfortAC operation can also support battery cooling. On heat-pump systems, valves and connected heat exchangers manage heat across the vehicle.
An AC complaint does not automatically mean the high-voltage battery needs repair. A thermal or charging warning should be assessed alongside the cabin-cooling problem.
Get the specification right
Parts matched to your Tesla
Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X changed over their production lives. Registration year helps start an enquiry; the fitted system determines the parts and service requirements.
Refrigerant specification
R134a and R1234yf are not interchangeable options. The vehicle specification identifies the correct type and charge amount. Adding extra gas is not a substitute for measuring the required charge.
Compressor and oil
Compressor variants can need different approved oil. Compatibility includes the oil and related service requirements, not simply whether a replacement unit appears to fit.
Genuine replacement parts
Our workshop uses genuine Tesla replacement parts. The quote identifies the component and accompanying work. If the car is imported or has had previous AC repairs, mention that before parts are ordered.
Maintenance is model specific
Cabin-filter, radiator-cleaning and AC desiccant work have different purposes. Follow the current guidance for the vehicle and its maintenance record. We do not assume every Tesla needs an annual gas refill or the same desiccant interval.
A fresher, drier cabin
Smells, weak airflow and water
Comfort problems do not always involve losing refrigerant. The cabin-air side deserves attention when the temperature is acceptable but the smell, airflow or moisture has changed.
For routine parts replacement, see our cabin air filter service. If the problem persists after a filter change, explain that when booking.
- A smell when cooling starts
- Filter condition, the evaporator and drainage may need attention. Cleaning treats the identified area; fragrance alone does not explain or correct the source of an odour.
- Water entering the cabin
- Tell us where the carpet gets wet and whether it follows AC use or rain. Condensation drainage and outside-water entry need different repairs. A puddle under the parked car can be normal AC condensation.
- Air coming from the wrong place
- Air-distribution controls, ducts and blower operation need assessment when the selected vents do not respond as expected. Recharging the refrigerant will not restore a damaged vent mechanism.
A practical repair plan
What changes cost and timing?
A straightforward refrigerant service and an evaporator replacement involve very different amounts of work. Your estimate should explain the difference before the car is dismantled.
We confirm the expected completion time after the fault and parts availability are understood.
Useful details for the first message
Model and year, the main symptom, any warning message, and what has already been repaired. A VIN can follow when it is needed for parts.
- Access to the part
- Work behind the dashboard or within a tightly packaged thermal assembly can take longer than an accessible connection repair. The quote includes the relevant removal and refitting.
- Extent of the fault
- A single leak and a compressor failure involving debris require different parts and service work. Additional damage is explained before the estimate changes.
- Parts availability
- The correct component must be identified before its availability can be checked. Imported specifications or earlier replacement parts can add compatibility questions.
- Testing time
- An intermittent problem may need time to reproduce. The repair also needs its final cooling and leak checks, even when the part itself is straightforward to fit.
The repair should answer the complaint
Check more than cold air
A brief blast of cold air is only part of the result. Final checks should relate to the original problem and the work completed, including the conditions in which cooling used to fail.
We explain the work performed and any remaining recommendations. Keep the repair record, particularly if the refrigerant or a major component has been serviced before.
- Cooling and airflowThe selected climate settings and relevant vents respond properly, with the original weak-cooling or low-airflow complaint reassessed.
- The repaired refrigerant circuitWhere opened or repaired, the system receives the required leak and service checks. The correct refrigerant and oil handling are part of that work.
- Controls and warning messagesRelevant controls, noise and warnings are checked after the repair. Any additional setup follows the applicable vehicle procedure.
- A clear handoverYou know which part was repaired or replaced and what the invoice includes. Ask about any recommended follow-up before collecting the car.
Can I drive with the AC not cooling?
Follow any warning or stop instruction shown by the vehicle. If there is only a cabin-cooling complaint, call to discuss the symptoms and the journey. Charging or thermal warnings, smoke or a burning smell need prompt advice before continuing.
Can you quote from a warning screenshot?
A screenshot helps identify the reported problem and arrange the right assessment. It cannot show every failed component or the required access. A confirmed repair total needs the fault and relevant parts established.
Will a software reset repair the AC?
A reset cannot seal a refrigerant leak or repair a damaged component. Tell us if the controls stopped responding after an update or if restarting them temporarily changes the behaviour; that history can help with diagnosis.
Why does the AC run while parked?
Thermal management and enabled climate features can keep fans or the compressor active while parked. This can be normal. New grinding, loss of cooling or warning messages are reasons to arrange a check.
