Plan the finish and budget

Ceramic coating prices

Our starting estimates below are for ceramic coating by Tesla model. Paint preparation, correction and additional surfaces can change the total, so compare the included work as well as the headline figure.

Tesla modelStarting estimate
Model 3From AED 1,800
Model YFrom AED 2,000
Model SFrom AED 2,200
Model XFrom AED 2,500

These are preliminary estimates per vehicle, not fixed packages. Ask for a written total showing preparation, coating application, covered surfaces and VAT before booking. Extra correction, paint repair and separate wheel, glass or film treatments are not automatically included.

Choose the result you want

Gloss, easier care or chip protection?

Ceramic coating is a thin surface treatment for an existing finish. It can enhance gloss and help dirt and water release during washing. It does not fill dents, replace damaged clear coat or make paint immune to scratches.

Keep the current paint finish

Choose coating when your priority is a clean, well-presented surface that is easier to maintain. Any visible swirls you want reduced need attention before application.

Reduce stone-chip damage

Paint protection film provides a physical barrier for vulnerable panels. Coating and compatible film can be combined, with each treatment specified for the surface it covers.

Change the colour or texture

A colour wrap changes the car’s appearance. Ceramic coating is transparent and does not turn gloss paint into a satin wrap or conceal an uneven finish underneath.

Preparation that suits the paint

Cleaning, polishing and coating do different jobs. Cleaning removes contamination, suitable polishing can improve certain surface marks, and the coating is applied after the finish is ready.

New or well-kept paint

A new Tesla still needs its finish checked and cleaned before coating. Heavy correction is not automatically necessary. The aim is a suitable clean surface without adding polishing the paint does not need.

Wash swirls and dull patches

Discuss the marks you want improved. The preparation estimate should explain which defects can reasonably be reduced and which will remain, rather than promising a percentage of scratch removal.

Chips, deep marks or fresh paint

These need a separate repair or timing decision. Coating cannot rebuild missing paint. Tell us about recent refinishing so the painter’s and coating maker’s requirements can be considered before application.

Already coated or wrapped?

Bring any previous product or installation details you have. The existing finish may need cleaning, a compatible maintenance treatment or further preparation before a new coating. Applying another product over an unknown surface is not a substitute for checking it.

Know what is included

Agree the surfaces being coated

An exterior paint package should name the panels included. Wheels, glass, trim, film and interior materials have different requirements, so a whole-car price should never be taken to mean every surface receives the same product.

Main coating enquiry

Painted body panels

Agree the exterior body coverage and preparation first. Bumpers, bonnet, doors and other painted panels should be identified in the estimate, along with any areas being left untreated because of their condition.

Separate treatment

Wheels and exterior trim

Ask which surfaces and compatible products are included. Wheel-face treatment is different from access to inner barrels or calipers. Extra access and preparation should be priced clearly rather than assumed within the body-coating figure.

Finish-specific choice

Matte finishes and film

A satin wrap, matte paint and paint protection film need a coating approved for that material and appearance. Tell us the film brand if known. Gloss enhancement is not the right promise when you want to preserve a low-sheen finish.

Check vehicle guidance

Windows and cabin surfaces

Glass treatment is not automatically included. Tesla’s current UAE Model Y guidance allows hydrophobic coating on side and rear windows, but excludes the front windshield because of camera visibility. Its seat guidance also advises against protectants, so white-seat coating is not a routine add-on. The instructions for your own vehicle take priority.

Application and collection

Allow time for the coating

The car needs enough time for preparation, even application and the selected product’s curing requirements. A coating visit is different from a quick wash, particularly when polishing or several separate surfaces are included.

Ask for the expected collection date before leaving the car. Initial dry time, permission to drive and the first normal wash are different milestones, and their timing depends on the product and conditions.

At handover, look over the finish for smears, uneven residue or missed areas. Keep the product name and treated surfaces with the invoice so future cleaning or paint work can account for them.

At collection

Know when it can get wet

Obtain the product-specific dry period and parking advice, including what to do if rain or contamination reaches the finish early.

Before the first wash

Follow the waiting period

Use the instructions supplied for the coating. Avoid booking a wash straight after collection without checking when it is allowed.

For ongoing care

Keep the treatment record

Tell future cleaners what was applied and follow any required maintenance schedule rather than using an unknown polish or topper.

Keep the finish working

Caring for coated paint

The coating makes maintenance easier, but the car still needs careful washing. Once the initial cure instructions allow it, remove loose grit before contact cleaning and dry the finish rather than leaving water to evaporate on it.

  • Use cleaning products compatible with both the vehicle and the selected coating.
  • Remove bird droppings and other contamination promptly without dry rubbing.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaning and unknown polishes that could alter the coating.
  • Tell the team about the coating when booking a maintenance wash.
Can you coat just one repaired panel?

Ask for a panel-specific estimate. Tell us when it was painted and which coating is on the rest of the car, if known. The repair finish and product compatibility determine when and how that panel can be treated.

Is graphene coating automatically better?

The product specification, preparation and care requirements are more useful than a label alone. If you are comparing a graphene product with another ceramic coating, compare the named products, included work and written terms rather than assuming one category always lasts longer.

Does ceramic coating affect Tesla’s warranty?

Coating is aftermarket work, and it should not be sold with a blanket promise about your vehicle warranty. Tesla’s guidance excludes damage caused by unsuitable treatments or maintenance. Ask about the product and application being proposed, and consult the applicable warranty terms if you have a specific concern.

Should I wax the car before bringing it in?

No extra wax or polish is needed before the appointment. Tell us what has already been applied so preparation can account for it. The finish needs to be suitable for the chosen coating rather than temporarily glossy from a fresh dressing.
