Colour-change vinyl wrapping
Tesla Car Wrapping in Dubai
A different colour can change the way your Tesla looks without committing to a repaint. Our independent Al Quoz workshop helps you choose a vinyl finish, agree the panels to cover and arrange installation around the condition of your car.
Model 3 · Model Y · Model S · Model X. Start with your model and the finish you have in mind.

Tesla wrap prices
These approximate starting estimates give you a first budget for wrapping your Tesla. The selected film, covered areas and preparation determine the fitted quotation, so compare the included work as well as the total.
| Tesla model | Starting estimate per vehicle |
|---|---|
| Model 3 | From AED 4,000 |
| Model Y | From AED 4,500 |
| Model X | From AED 5,000 |
| Model S | From AED 5,500 |
These are guide prices, not fixed packages or prices for colour PPF. Confirm the final coverage, material, fitting and VAT treatment in your written estimate before booking.
A partial wrap, a specialist-effect film or removal of an old installation needs its own quotation. A bonnet-only price and a full exterior colour change do not cover the same job.

Choose the material first
Vinyl, PPF or paint?
“Wrap” can describe different films. For a new colour or a different sheen, colour-change vinyl is the starting point. If protection from road debris is your main aim, compare a purpose-made paint protection film before choosing by colour alone.
Colour-change vinyl
A thin decorative film fitted over suitable bodywork. It changes the colour, finish or selected details. It can take some surface wear, but it should not be sold as equivalent to stone-chip protection film.
Best suited to an appearance changePaint protection film
PPF is made to provide physical surface protection. Clear film keeps the underlying colour visible; coloured PPF is a separate product category. Our paint protection film service covers protective-film enquiries. Ask about current coloured-film availability.
Choose by protection and product specificationRepair and repaint
Paintwork may be needed when the existing finish is failing or damage needs repairing. Vinyl follows the surface beneath it and cannot correct dents or loose clear coat. A repaired panel must be ready for film before installation.

Choose colour by the sample
A photograph is a useful starting point, but the physical film sample should settle the choice. The same grey can look quite different in a glossy, satin or matte finish, especially across the bonnet and curved rear panels.

- Gloss
- Sharper reflections and a more polished appearance. Look at the sample in daylight to judge the depth of colour.
- Satin
- A softer sheen that still shows the body contours. A satin black or grey can look different from a similarly named matte film.
- Matte
- A low-reflection surface. Choose it because you like the finish, with cleaning products suited to that specific film.
- Metallic and special effects
- Metallic, textured and colour-shift films need a sample check, confirmed supply and their own price. Do not assume a light-dependent colour shift means the film changes colour with heat.
Bring the reference shade you like, whether that is black, white, a muted grey or a stronger colour. A familiar colour nickname is not a manufacturer product code, so the final order should name the actual film.
Exterior panels and finishing details
Agree where the wrap ends
A complete-looking exterior starts with a clear panel list. Door shuts, glass, trims and inner edges need individual decisions; the words “full wrap” should not leave those details to guesswork.
Full exterior colour change
List the painted panels, bumper covers, mirrors and handles to be covered. Agree how contrasting trims and the charge-port door will look. Roof glass remains a different surface from a painted roof section.
Partial wraps and accents
A bonnet, mirror pair or selected trim detail can be quoted individually. Mark the exact areas and the join between original paint and film so the result feels intentional.
Door shuts and original colour
An exterior wrap can leave the original colour visible when doors open. If you want those inner areas included, discuss the extra coverage, access and cost before work begins.

Details vary with the model
Model 3 and Model Y body revisions change panel shapes and trim details. Model S and Model X also need their own coverage plan; the Model X rear-door openings add areas to discuss. Film must leave camera views, required openings and moving parts unobstructed. The finishing check should include door and charge-port operation as well as the appearance of edges and joins.
The surface beneath the film
Good preparation shows through
Wrapping a rough panel does not make it smooth. Before you choose an installation date, tell us about previous paint repairs, ceramic coating or an existing wrap. These can change the preparation and removal work.
If damaged panels need attention first, our body shop can assess the repair options. Repair and wrapping costs should remain clear in the estimate.
- Dents, chips and peeling paint
- Raised edges and surface irregularities can remain visible through film. Loose paint is also a poor foundation for adhesion. Resolve those areas before covering them.
- Previous repainting
- Identify the repainted panels and when the work was done. Fresh paint needs the repairer’s specified curing period, while weak or poorly bonded paint can lift during later film removal.
- Old film and surface treatments
- Existing vinyl, adhesive residue, wax or ceramic coating can add preparation. Agree removal and assessment first rather than assuming a new layer can simply go over the old one.
Before leaving the car
Plan the installation visit
Timing and material supply
A full colour change is a multi-stage workshop job. Preparation, access to panel edges, fitting and finishing checks all need time. The appointment and expected collection date depend on the chosen film being available and the car being ready for installation.
Confirm any old-wrap removal or paint repair before booking transport for the days without your Tesla. A partial detail may need less work, but its timing still depends on the panels and finish.
Permissions and vehicle records
Before changing the registered colour, check the current approval and vehicle-record requirements with the authority where your Tesla is registered. For a Dubai-registered car, confirm the applicable Dubai Police and RTA steps before installation.
A leased or financed vehicle may also have conditions on modifications and its return. Check your agreement and any insurer notification requirements. The workshop quotation does not replace an authority approval or the owner’s contractual permission.
Check the finish at collection
- Walk around the car in suitable light and compare the agreed colour and coverage.
- Review edges, planned joins, handles, mirrors and any visible original-colour areas.
- Check that doors, windows, charge-port access and disturbed trim work as intended.
- Keep the film product details, invoice and care instructions for later repairs or removal.
Keep the finish looking good
Care for your wrapped Tesla
The right aftercare depends on the installed film. Ask for its washing instructions and the first-wash waiting period at handover, especially for matte, satin or textured finishes.
Use a gentle routine
Hand wash with a film-compatible mild cleaner and clean, soft equipment. Remove contamination promptly, dry the surface and avoid abrasive polishing. Keep concentrated water jets away from film edges.
Watch the exposed areas
Sun exposure and storage affect the finish over time. Inspect horizontal areas and edges for fading, cracking or lifting. Contact the installer when deterioration appears rather than pulling at a loose edge.
Plan the next change
Vinyl is removable, but paint-safe removal cannot be guaranteed for every surface. Film age and the paint beneath it matter. Professional assessment is especially useful where panels have been repainted.
Warranty terms belong to the chosen film
Ask for the written material and installation terms before booking. Coverage may depend on the film, local warranty conditions, panel exposure and care. A quoted product warranty is not a promise that every wrap will look unchanged for five or seven years, or that prior paint defects will be covered.
Can you replace the wrap on one damaged panel?
A damaged section can often be removed and the panel rewrapped. The original film must still be available, and ageing can make a new piece look different from the surrounding wrap. Inspect the paint beneath any impact damage before fitting replacement film.
Can I choose a custom graphic?
Send the design or a reference image with the panels you want covered. Printed artwork, colour matching and special finishes need a separate material and production check before a price or installation date can be confirmed.
Will the wrap increase resale value?
A wrap can suit a buyer’s taste, but a resale increase is not guaranteed. Keep records of the original paint condition, any repairs and the installed film. A future buyer may want to inspect the finish underneath.
Is a vinyl wrap the same as peelable paint?
No. Vinyl arrives as adhesive film fitted to the panels; peelable paint is applied as a removable coating. They have different preparation, finishing and removal requirements. Specify which material you want when comparing quotations.
