Plan the repair
Bumper repair and replacement prices
Repairing the existing cover can avoid buying a replacement. These AED planning figures help you compare the options, before the damage and exact parts are confirmed.
| Work per bumper | Planning price |
|---|---|
| Repair the existing cover | AED 500–2,000 |
| Repair and repaint a suitable cover | From AED 600 |
| Model 3 front or rear replacement | AED 1,500–3,000 |
| Model Y front or rear replacement | AED 2,000–3,500 |
| Model S front replacement | AED 2,500–4,000 |
| Model X rear replacement | AED 2,500–4,500 |
Repair and repair-with-paint are alternative estimates, not charges to add together. Replacement ranges need confirmation of the supplied cover, paint, fitting and hardware. They are not a price for every component damaged in a collision. VAT inclusion must be confirmed in your written quotation.
Show us the damaged area
A photo and your Tesla model are enough to start. We can explain the likely options before arranging a closer assessment.
Keep the cover where suitable
The repair follows the damage
A scratch does not automatically mean replacement. Equally, a tidy-looking outer surface can conceal a broken attachment. We assess the finish and the cover’s ability to fit securely before recommending the work.
Scuffs and paint transfer
A mark sitting on an otherwise sound finish may respond to careful cleaning and polishing. Scratches through the colour need paint repair. We establish how deep the damage goes before deciding whether refinishing is necessary.
Gouges, dents and local cracks
Suitable plastic damage may be repaired when the material, location and applicable Tesla instructions allow it. The remaining shape, missing material and condition of any previous repair matter. Crack length alone is not a reliable repair rule.
A corner that has come loose
The cover, its locating tabs and the support behind it need separate inspection. A replacement guide or fastener may solve the fitting problem; broken plastic or a distorted support may need more work. Repainting does not secure a loose corner.
A cover that cannot be restored
Replacement becomes the sensible option when damage exceeds permitted repair limits or the cover cannot regain the required shape and attachment. We compare the finished repair with a fitted replacement, including paint and any damaged associated parts.
A hanging cover, tyre contact, fluid leak or change in driving after an impact needs attention before moving the car. Contact the workshop about suitable assistance rather than relying on a photograph to establish that it is safe to drive.
Know what is being replaced
The cover and the parts behind it
The painted plastic outer cover is also called the fascia. Replacing it does not automatically replace the bumper’s supports, impact components or fitted equipment.

Outer cover and trim
The replacement must suit the front or rear of your exact vehicle. Lower valances, grilles, reflectors and other trim are separate items where fitted. Usable components may be transferred; damaged ones belong on the parts list.
Mountings and surrounding panels
Guides, brackets and fasteners hold the cover in position beside the lamps and bodywork. Wheel-arch liners and underbody panels also need a secure fit. A new cover cannot correct a damaged mounting on its own.
Absorber and reinforcement
Impact-absorbing parts and the reinforcement behind the cover have different functions from the painted skin. Impact damage must be assessed against the applicable repair instructions, even if the outer cover has sprung back into shape.
Where the impact extends into lamps, body panels or the structure, our accident repair service covers the wider assessment and repair arrangements.
Parts and fitted equipment
A bumper matched to your Tesla
Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X covers are not interchangeable. Production changes within a model also affect the shape, attachments and equipment, so the VIN and existing part are checked before ordering.
Front and rear details
A facelift can change the cover, openings and adjoining fittings. At the front, air openings and equipment around the fascia need to remain correctly positioned. At the rear, the lower trim, reflectors and tow-access arrangement must match the vehicle where fitted.
We confirm the supplied part and what can be reused before painting. A cover that looks similar in a sales photograph may need different supports or fittings.
Sensors and completion checks
Parking sensors, radar and cameras vary by build. Damage to a component, its mounting or its wiring is a separate issue from paint damage. Tesla’s front-fascia repair limits can also depend on equipment and, for some vehicles, software.
Required checks or calibration follow the identified equipment and repair procedure. A bumper respray should not automatically be described as full driver-assistance calibration. On cars with painted ultrasonic parking sensors, Tesla’s guidance does not permit simply repainting an already-painted sensor.
Tell us about a new parking or driver-assistance warning after the impact. It helps the assessment include the relevant equipment as well as the visible damage.

Paint and reassembly
A consistent finish and fit
Colour matching starts with the paint specification and the finish already on your car. Age, previous repainting and pearl or metallic effects can influence the match. The paint plan should make clear whether work stays on the bumper or includes blending an adjoining panel.
Preparation must suit the plastic and the selected paint system. A small repair area can still need a wider finishing area to produce a sound, consistent result.
- Surface finish: Review colour, gloss and texture beside the surrounding bodywork.
- Secure fitting: Check cover edges, wheel-arch attachments, trim and gaps beside the lamps.
- Reassembled equipment: Review the operation of the parts disturbed during the job and any remaining warnings.
If the bumper has PPF or a colour wrap, include its removal and any replacement in the estimate. Applying new protection must wait until the paint supplier’s aftercare instructions allow it.
Arrange your visit
From the first photo to collection
Send an overall front or rear view and a closer photo of the damage, with the car safely parked. Mention loose edges, previous repairs and any new warning. The model is enough to begin; the year or VIN can follow when a part needs identifying.
How long will it take?
A cosmetic repair has different timing from a replacement awaiting parts. Preparation, paint curing, refitting and required checks all affect the collection date. Ask for the current parts lead time and time in the workshop separately when you book.
For a closer look at the items that change an estimate, our bumper repair cost guide explains how to compare the completed work.
Agree the assessment
A photo estimate is preliminary. Where access behind the cover is needed, agree any inspection or removal charge and how hidden damage will be handled.
Confirm the repair
Review the parts, paint and fitting together before authorising work. If claiming on insurance, establish the insurer’s repair approval before parts are ordered.
Collect with the repair details
Keep the invoice, parts information and applicable workmanship terms. Ask when washing, polishing or applying film is suitable for the finish used on your car.
Can I supply a used bumper?
Discuss the part before buying it. Compatibility, broken tabs, previous repairs and preparation can affect whether it is suitable and what fitting will cost. A used painted cover may still need repainting. Acceptance and any parts or workmanship terms should be agreed before booking.
Can a dent be repaired without painting?
Sometimes, if the plastic and finish can be restored without refinishing and the applicable repair instructions allow it. A plastic bumper dent is a different job from paintless dent removal on a metal body panel. Cracked paint or damaged material changes the options.
Will bumper replacement include wheel alignment?
Wheel alignment is a separate operation. It may be relevant if the collision also affected a wheel, steering or suspension, but replacing the cover alone does not establish that need. Mention wheel or kerb contact and any change in how the car drives.

Book a bumper assessment
Tell us which Tesla you drive and whether the damage is at the front or rear. We will help you arrange the next step for scratch repair, bumper repair or replacement.
