Camera repair and replacement

Tesla Camera Replacement in Dubai

A missing camera view makes everyday parking harder. If your Tesla has a blank feed, a damaged camera or a warning that keeps returning, our independent Al Quoz workshop can assess the problem and quote for the repair or replacement it needs.

Start with your model and the view or warning that is giving you trouble.

Plan the repair

Tesla camera replacement cost

Our indicative Tesla camera replacement estimate is AED 1,500–3,500. The camera position, compatible part and work needed determine the final amount. This is guidance for a replacement job, rather than a fixed price for every camera or a complete camera set.

Confirm the camera being replaced, included work and VAT in your written quotation. Any assessment charge is agreed separately before booking.

Choose the right repair

What has changed on screen?

The message or missing view guides the assessment. A visibility warning, a lost video feed and a recording problem can need different work, even when they all seem to be a camera failure.

A blurred or blocked view

Dirt on an exposed lens, a mark in the windscreen viewing area or temporary condensation can obscure the image. A warning in poor conditions alone does not establish that the camera has failed.

If the view stays unclear after the obstruction has cleared, the lens, enclosure and relevant glass need inspection before a replacement is ordered.

A black or intermittent feed

A missing rear or side view needs investigation of the camera and its connection. Tell us whether one view is missing or several fail together, and whether the problem appears when selecting reverse, using an indicator or opening the camera display.

The recommendation may be a connection or wiring repair, a camera replacement, or further electrical investigation. Replacing a working camera will not repair a fault elsewhere.

A cracked or loose camera

Impact damage can affect the lens, housing, mounting and surrounding panel. The visible crack may be only part of the job. A stable mounting and sound connection matter when fitting the new unit.

Recordings are missing

If the live image works but Dashcam or Sentry clips are missing, recording settings and storage need attention as well. A USB-drive problem does not automatically require a new camera. Mention whether the issue affects the live view, saved footage or both.

Identify the camera first

Different positions, different parts

Your model, build and camera hardware determine the fitted assembly. Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X enquiries are welcome, but the model name alone is not enough to order a replacement.

Rear reversing camera
The rear-facing unit provides the reversing view. A damaged lens, housing or connection needs assessment at that location.
Side repeater cameras
These sit in the front-fender assemblies on applicable vehicles. Left and right parts and hardware revisions must match the car.
Door-pillar cameras
The camera and its viewing area are part of the assessment. They should not be confused with the nearby side repeater or mirror.
Windscreen cameras
The forward-facing assembly views the road through the upper glass. Its bracket, viewing area and required setup all matter to the repair.
Cabin or front-fascia camera
The cabin camera faces the interior; a front-fascia camera is fitted only to certain vehicles. Their purpose and replacement requirements are different.

Understand the completion work

What camera calibration means

Calibration helps the vehicle interpret the cameras’ positions. It is separate from fitting the part and cannot correct a damaged lens, loose mounting or electrical fault. The required work follows the procedure for the particular camera and vehicle.

Physical fitting and viewing angle

The camera must sit correctly in its mounting with a clear view. Some forward-camera replacements require a separate pitch check, meaning verification of the camera’s angle. A live picture alone does not establish that these checks are complete.

Required camera setup

When an external camera has moved from its calibrated position, the applicable Tesla procedure requires its old calibration data to be cleared. Applicable replacement procedures may also require camera configuration or updates. The quotation should identify this work for your vehicle.

Driving calibration and feature status

Where driving calibration is required, the car gathers information during manual driving. Completion depends on suitable road and visibility conditions. Ask whether it is finished or still pending at collection, and which features remain unavailable.

Do not rely on a restricted driver-assistance feature or repeatedly clear calibration to remove a warning. Follow the vehicle’s messages and the instructions given for the repair. The driver remains responsible for observing the road and controlling the car.

A useful detail before booking

Problems after glass or bodywork

Tell us if the warning began after a windscreen replacement, collision repair, wrapping or work near a camera. The timing helps direct attention to the viewing area, mounting or disturbed connections without assuming the new part has failed.

For a forward-camera concern, the glass and bracket may need checking together. If damaged glass also needs replacing, discuss the camera requirements alongside the windscreen replacement, so the estimate covers the related work.

Before you collect

Review the camera repair

Ask to see the relevant camera view and review the work carried out. The handover should distinguish the repaired fault from any calibration still in progress.

  • The replaced camera or repaired connection is identified on the invoice.
  • The accessible view is checked for a stable image and clear visibility.
  • Reinstated trim, mounting and applicable setup are reviewed.
  • Any remaining alert or follow-up requirement is explained.

Keep exposed cameras clean using the instructions for your model. Avoid abrasive cleaning or covering their viewing areas with accessories or film. Report a returning fault with its warning message and the circumstances in which it appears.

Should I replace every camera together?

Not as a routine response to one fault. The assessment should identify the failed unit or connection and any related damage. Several missing views can require broader investigation rather than several cameras being ordered immediately.

Can I supply a replacement camera?

Speak to the workshop before buying one. A used or online-supplied unit needs its identity, compatibility and condition checked. Fitting a customer-supplied part and the applicable warranty terms must be agreed before the appointment.

Will replacement add new driver-assistance features?

A repair is intended to restore the compatible fitted system. It does not automatically add a newer hardware generation, a purchased feature or availability in a different market. Any upgrade enquiry needs a separate compatibility review.

Should I save Dashcam footage before service?

Yes, save any recordings you need before the visit using the vehicle’s instructions. Tell the workshop if a recording fault is part of the enquiry. A camera replacement is not a service for recovering footage that was never saved or has been overwritten.

Get your camera assessed

Tell us your Tesla model and which view or warning is causing concern. We can discuss an assessment appointment and the details needed for a replacement estimate.

Use the form for a general enquiry, or call if you need to discuss the car before bringing it in. An initial estimate does not commit you to replacing a camera.
