Start with the replacement decision

One tire, a pair or a complete set

The right quantity depends on damage, remaining tread and the fitted wheel combination. Send front and rear sidewall photos with your Tesla model and year.

01

One tire after damage

Match the exact specification and measure the other tires. A single replacement needs the remaining tread and condition to meet the vehicle guidance.

02

A pair when matching requires it

Tesla recommends replacing in pairs unless the remaining tires are within 1.5 mm of the new tire’s tread depth. Correct axle placement still depends on the wheel setup.

04

A set when all four are due

Compare four compatible tires using the correct front and rear sizes. Ask why wear occurred before fitting a new set if the old tires wore unevenly.

A flat tire, bulge or exposed cords needs immediate attention. Call before traveling. Do not drive on a damaged tire to compare prices. If you need to know whether a puncture can be repaired, see our Tesla tire repair assessment and replacement.

Your specification comes before the brand

Read the whole sidewall before ordering

235 / 45 R18 98VExample specification. Your front and rear tires may use different specifications.

Send the size, load index, speed rating, product name and any XL or Tesla approval marking. Include the production date code and tell us about aftermarket wheels or imported specifications.

Tesla approval

T0, T1 and T2 identify Tesla-approved versions. Match the actual application. An EV label or acoustic foam alone does not prove suitability.

Axle configuration

A staggered setup needs different front and rear sizes. Directional tires and tread differences also affect replacement and rotation.

Check the proposed tire against Tesla’s tire guidance and your vehicle specification. The reference photograph is not a recommended tire.

Choose by your driving priorities

Build a shortlist that fits the car and your use

Compatibility comes first. Then compare the relevant versions of each tire, with the same fitting inclusions.

Comfort and road noise

Discuss the current ride and where the noise is noticeable. Compare construction and suitable acoustic options. Foam can address certain tire noise, but it cannot guarantee a silent cabin or correct a worn bearing.

Everyday efficiency

Compare suitable options designed with rolling resistance in mind. Ask about the trade-offs in feel, wear and cost. A tire change does not guarantee a particular range increase; pressure, driving and conditions also matter.

Handling and wet-road grip

Ask for a tire suited to the vehicle’s performance and your normal use. Compare the exact product specifications, not just the brand. A performance tire does not remove the need to reduce speed for standing water.

Working to a budget? Ask for more than one compatible option and compare total fitted cost, product version and warranty, rather than choosing by brand or the cheapest loose tire. For a fuller buying discussion, read our Tesla tire selection guide. Confirm the final recommendation and availability with the workshop.

Your fitting appointment

Balancing equipment is shown as a reference. Alignment measures wheel angles and is a separate operation.

  1. Confirm the tires and condition

Check the supplied specification, quantity and production information. Record wheel damage and investigate unusual wear before installation.

  2. Fit and balance the agreed set

The scope should cover correct lifting, wheel protection, orientation, valve condition and balancing. Keep serviceable compatible sensors unless findings justify replacement.

  3. Check the car before collection

Confirm cold-pressure settings, applicable monitoring checks and any remaining vibration or warning. Tesla’s Model 3 guidance recommends alignment after installing a new set. Confirm the applicable wheel alignment check or adjustment and any further diagnosis as separate quoted work.

  4. Keep the terms with the invoice

Confirm the parts and workmanship warranty separately. Manufacturing-defect coverage is different from puncture, impact damage and normal wear. Ask about approval and return conditions before fitting.

The configuration matters

Check the wheels on the car, not just the badge

Equal-size front and rear

Matching dimensions may allow more rotation options, but direction, construction, tread condition and vehicle instructions still matter. Do not approve a rotation pattern solely because the car is rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Different front and rear sizes

A staggered setup needs axle-specific tires. Front-to-rear rotation may not be possible. Model 3, Y, S and X specifications vary by version, generation and wheel option, including aftermarket changes.

If the complaint is a missing pressure reading or persistent monitoring fault, request TPMS diagnosis alongside the tire inquiry. New tires do not automatically require new sensors.

After fitting

Protect the new tires and watch for changes

First use

Follow the fitter’s and vehicle manufacturer’s first-use instructions. Tesla’s Model 3 manual advises avoiding hard acceleration while mounting lubricant dries, which can take up to 24 hours. Report a new vibration, pulling, pressure loss or monitoring warning promptly.

Routine pressure and wear checks

Check cold pressure against the vehicle’s specified label and inspect the tread and sidewalls regularly. Do not use the maximum pressure molded on the tire as the vehicle’s inflation target.

Rotation when applicable

Tesla’s general guidance is every 10,000 km, or a tread-depth difference of 1.5 mm, whichever comes first. The actual rotation must suit the tire and wheel configuration.

Damage and repeat wear

A bulge, exposed reinforcement or recurring pressure loss needs prompt assessment. Avoid driving on a flat tire. Repeated uneven wear warrants diagnosis before another set is fitted.

How much should I budget for Tesla tires?

The exact tire and quantity determine the bill. The fitted examples shown are AED 1,049.06 per Michelin 235/45 R18 98V T2 Acoustic tire and AED 1,557.36 per Hankook 255/45 R19 104W T2 EV Silent tire, including VAT. These are dated retail comparisons, not fixed workshop offers. Confirm compatibility, stock and your complete fitted quote.

How long does a tire fitting visit take?

Timing depends on the quantity, confirmed stock and any wheel, valve, sensor or alignment work. Agree the appointment and expected completion before traveling. A price example does not reserve stock or promise same-day fitting.

Do I have to choose a tire labeled for electric vehicles?

An EV label alone is not enough. The tire must meet the requirements for the vehicle and fitted wheels, including size, load and speed specifications. Compare the exact version and relevant Tesla approval rather than relying on a label or brand.

Can I replace only one tire?

Sometimes. Tesla recommends replacing in pairs unless the remaining tires are within 1.5 mm of the new tire’s tread depth. The exact specification, condition and axle arrangement still need checking. Ask for the measurements before deciding between one tire, a pair or a set.

Can you confirm a tire is in stock before I come?

Contact the workshop with the full front and rear markings and required quantity. Availability and the appointment must be confirmed for the exact product. An inquiry or a tire pictured on this page does not reserve stock.

Is wheel alignment included in tire fitting?

Only when the written quotation includes it. Ask whether the price covers a check, an adjustment or neither. Pulling or uneven wear may require further diagnosis, while balancing is a separate operation normally considered during fitting.

Do I need new TPMS sensors with every set of tires?

No automatic replacement is assumed. Existing compatible sensors may be retained if they are serviceable. Valve service items and monitoring checks depend on the fitted system. A sensor fault should be diagnosed and priced separately.

Can I arrange mobile fitting or recovery?

Call to confirm what is available for your location, vehicle and condition. Do not assume roadside fitting can be completed safely or that a matching tire is immediately available. A damaged or flat tire may require suitable transport to a workshop.
